Hey, y'all!
| |
After the slow holiday season, I have to say I'm thrilled for classes to be kicking into high gear now. Hopefully, warmer weather and less rain are right around the corner! At least the dreariness of February has been broken up with tons of creation, from Golden Shovels and acrostics to music articles, and even the beginnings of research topic deep-dives.
More exciting things are coming in March (and beyond)! Be sure to check out all the information below on next month's Writer's Clubs, two 6-week class series beginning in April, and a FREE class offering I'm bringing to the community.

Snellville - February 6th In the Natural World
|
|
We are headed outdoors for this Writer’s Club, where we will explore the natural world in a way that allows us to zoom in on something specific by framing it. The goal for this class will be to write using sensory imagery and figurative language in order to accurately describe their framed “worlds.”

Buckhead - February 20th New Endings
| |
Join us for this Writer's Club, where students will choose one of their favorite stories to rewrite its ending! Or maybe it's one of their least favorite stories they feel DEFINITELY needs a new ending. They pick! We will use this as an opportunity to show a major character changing as a result of the events in the original story.

Free Writing Class - March 16th!!!
| |
This class is a special offering & free for anyone interested! I am offering this opportunity to our community as an ever-evolving effort to share my love of writing with children. These classes help children explore self-expression in written form, while nurturing their ability to tap into their writing voice and access the words within them. Strong communication skills are vital to the development of fluid writing that engages readers. This FREE writing class, we will explore how leaving out pieces of a story, or not offering enough detail can leave gaps of knowledge for your audience. This doesn't make for good storytelling! This super fun, hands-on activity will have us doing sandwich-making instructional writing for an alien (with a good deal of laughter). It's peanut butter jelly time! Cost: FREE Date: March 16 Time: 11-12:30 Location: Snellville (Norris Lake) Please notify me of any nut allergies so I can make appropriate substitutions for this activity.
