Writer's Club

Writer's Club meets once a month using Zoom from 11-2 on the 3rd Friday of each month (unless otherwise noted)! The goal of these monthly meetings is to nurture your writer's ability to tap into their writing voice. We will access the words within them and explore self-expression in written form while giving students a safe space to share their writing with an audience!

Each Writer's Club focuses on a concept or theme intended to help your growing writer!

Some past themes we've enjoyed include:

  • Dynamic Dialogue
  • Revisionism & Fairy Tales
  • Nature Walks & Descriptive Writing
  • Opening Hooks
  • Creating New Endings
  • Collaborative Storytelling
  • Show Not Tell
  • Days of Poetry
  • And so many more!
Writer's Club Meeting

Writer's Club is open to any child interested, regardless of age! I keep this multi-aged and always endeavor to meet kids where they are at in their writing life! Children attending Writer's Club are usually anywhere from upper elementary through high school.

I take a cross-curricular approach in the classes I teach, regularly combining writing with art, history, literature, and analysis.

Themes for each Writer's Club can be found on their listings on our Calendar. I update these listings at the beginning of each month.

The goal in writing is not perfection but courage.
